Book #6: "An 'A' from Mrs. Keller" by Patricia Polacco (REALISTIC FICTION)

An "A" from Mrs. Keller

Summary
An "A" from Mrs. Keller is a novel based off of a girl named Trisha, in school, who is nervous about being chosen for Mrs. Keller's writing class.Unfortunately, her miserable thoughts soon convert to reality."Killer Keller", as they call her, demands on students writing papers to emerge with a dazzling appearance that thoroughly, with no doubt, impresses her. Everyone knows that if someone gets an "A", they must be a writing legend.Trisha has always tried to impress Mrs. Keller, but there's just no possibility of catching a little glimpse of her smile! One day, she gets another poor grade, but Mrs. Keller gives her some good advice-"You seem desperate to earn an A, so to earn an A, you must give your words wings".By this personification, she meant to bring more power to the words, and create emphasis in the root words of the idea. One day, a beloved friend of Trisha dies. She feels a great pressure of depression, feeling the urge to write about the catastrophe. Then, her writing takes an unexpected turn. She earns an A, and others can hardly believe it!

Review
I think that Patricia Polacco did a great job on the book, relying on the fact that she gave the character of Trisha a realistic "kid" personality, so the book gave me an album of photos in my head...
