Three times lucky (genre of mystery) book #8

Three Times Lucky
Three times lucky, by Sheila Tubman, has a clear and obvious genre of mystery, which briskly represents the root plot of this book- the process of reuniting with her lost upstream mother, the narrator being Mo.At first, Mo's summer is looking good...but that's before the murder, the car crash, the kidnapping, and the big perplexity. So now, she and her friend, Dale, are setting out to solve the mystery of their lives.

The first, desperate-to-solve mystery was Mr. Jesse being killed with an oar.The news spread across the town as quick as confetti. And you'll never guess who the prime suspect is...Dale! So Mo opens a bi-detective service with Dale called "Desperado Detectives"to clear Dale's name from the crime suspects. Since Mo lost her mom, Miss Lana and the Colonel give her lots of tender loving care. One day, Mo and Dale are outside having some fun. When they get tired, they go to Mo's house, and the next thing they know-Miss Lana and the Colonel are kidnapped with a note left by the kidnapper(s).Another professional detective stays at Mo's house, and  Mo must stay at Dale's house. Then, Mo gets a ransom call from a runaway outlaw, Slate, that he will give Lana and the Colonel back if Mo gives half a million dollars back from the Colonel's bank account.

Soon, the Colonel escapes and comes home.Afterward, Mo and Dale riskily break the law by crossing the crime scene tape, but only because Mo has a potent hunch of where Slate is-and she was right. When Mo and Dale got there they attack and reinterpret Slate, and earn credit for 2 murders-Dolph Andrews, and Mr. Jesse, and also for solving a kidnapping case. One day, she finds a bottle(in the creek)- how she attempts to communicate with her upstream mother, but she finds one of her own notes inside, frustrated.

Book #6: "An 'A' from Mrs. Keller" by Patricia Polacco (REALISTIC FICTION)

An "A" from Mrs. Keller

Summary
An "A" from Mrs. Keller is a novel based off of a girl named Trisha, in school, who is nervous about being chosen for Mrs. Keller's writing class.Unfortunately, her miserable thoughts soon convert to reality."Killer Keller", as they call her, demands on students writing papers to emerge with a dazzling appearance that thoroughly, with no doubt, impresses her. Everyone knows that if someone gets an "A", they must be a writing legend.Trisha has always tried to impress Mrs. Keller, but there's just no possibility of catching a little glimpse of her smile! One day, she gets another poor grade, but Mrs. Keller gives her some good advice-"You seem desperate to earn an A, so to earn an A, you must give your words wings".By this personification, she meant to bring more power to the words, and create emphasis in the root words of the idea. One day, a beloved friend of Trisha dies. She feels a great pressure of depression, feeling the urge to write about the catastrophe. Then, her writing takes an unexpected turn. She earns an A, and others can hardly believe it!

Review
I think that Patricia Polacco did a great job on the book, relying on the fact that she gave the character of Trisha a realistic "kid" personality, so the book gave me an album of photos in my head...

Book #1: "Stone Fox" by John R. Gardiner (ADVENTURE)

The book I am reviewing  is "Stone Fox".It all starts off with a boy named Willy and his grandfather who enjoy life in their peaceful farm until one day a catastrophe struck. One day, Willy's grandfather is full of energy, and the next, he lay in bed as still as ice.At first,Willy thought he was joking. Then, he got scared and went to the doctor's hut.The doctor examined  his grandfather and she said that he wasn't sick-he just gave up on life.Willy tried to ask his grandfather what would make him better, but he could not speak.Later, the tax collectors came and said to Willy that he owed them 500 dollars for not paying the taxes (that's what made his grandfather give up).Willy decided to enter a dogsled race with a reward to the winner of 500 dollars. But the problem was that the great racer Stone Fox - who never lost a race- signed up for the race. Difficult or not,Willy was determined to compete and win! Towards the end of the race with Willy in first place, Willy's dog's heart burst. Stone Fox let Willy walk the rest of the race, and Stone Fox said he would shoot anyone that tried to pass Willy. Willy still won the race.

I feel like Willy's dog, Searchlight, tried very hard to win the race thanks to the strong bond of friendship between Willy and Searchlight. I think Searchlight knew that the race was for a very important reason.Willy obviously has a strong spirit because he didn't want to let his grandfather down. I liked this book because it was about friends helping friends. My favorite part of the book was when Willy heard about the dogsled race.
